Jesus, my Savior, is all things to me hymn

Jesus, my Savior, is all things to me;
Oh, what a wonderful Savior is He,
Guiding, protecting, o’er life’s rolling sea,
Mighty Deliv’rer—Jesus for me.
Jesus for me,
  Jesus for me,
All the time everywhere,
    Jesus for me.
Jesus in sickness, and Jesus in health,
Jesus in poverty, comfort or wealth;
Sunshine or tempest, whatever it be,
He is my safety—Jesus for me.
He is my Refuge, my Rock, and my Tower,
He is my Fortress, my Strength and my Pow’r;
Life everlasting, my Daysman is He,
Blessed Redeemer—Jesus for me.
He is my Prophet, my Priest and my King,
He is my Bread of Life, Fountain and Spring;
Bright Sun of Righteousness, Daystar is He,
Horn of Salvation—Jesus for me.
Jesus in sorrow, in joy, or in pain,
Jesus my Treasure in loss or in gain;
Constant Companion where’er I may be,
Living or dying—Jesus for me.

Many people who meet me, even members of my family (except my dad🤣) say I am Kind, nice, loving, caring, friendly, generous, can tolerate, etc.

In my mind, I am looking at them like; 😏 You and who.

During this period, I have come to realize that they are actually right.

What was my primary weakness? ‘anger’ but by Hearing Jesus, listening to Jesus, eating Jesus, associating with Jesus and most especially imitating him, people began to Love and See Jesus in me.

Now, why did I want to imitate Jesus? I saw enviable qualities in him, that aside, I saw that Jesus did not set up standards for me, he wasn’t asking for an arm and leg, he wasn’t saying; “Look, Aina, you have to be this way”, “You have to be like Cecilia “, No, he urged! “Come as you are”

sounds good

In my mind, I was thinking; “Ah! Born Again ma ni yen Japa! Does this mean? No makeup, no earrings, hair covered, quiet? No, please, this can’t be me, this can’t be Aina. But the urge was clear;

“Come as you are”

In and with Jesus, the things that used to matter to me a lot, the things I thought I would never be able to give up, do not even mean anything to me anymore. I am still a ‘Work-in-Progress’ and does it hurt? Yes. Is it satisfying? Yes

It hurts, how so?🤦🏼‍♀
Now, it’s easy to give when you have an abundance, easy to give someone you love, easy to give someone that you are sure will repay! But Jesus does not want you to give any of these. Rather, he wants you to be kind to, to give that person who just began keeping malice with you out of the blues, that man that has just destroyed something important to you, that neighbour that spreads ills and calumny against you!!!

It hurts

It hurts because;
Someone hurts you and he still wants you to be first to apologise.
Someone you know and you are sure you can beat🤦🏼‍♀ misbehaves to you and he just wants you to walk away…

When we were informed there wouldn’t be Public Masses anymore on the 22nd of March, 2020, I was filled with trepidation. I began to think; “will I revert?”
Even though it has being a long, arduous journey, I have done many of these things so many times, that I have begun to enjoy being called; ” nice, loving and all that”🤦🏼‍♀ Moving away from that, I have begun to enjoy being actually nice🤦🏼‍♀🤣

So, “No Public Mass”, got me like; “Ah! Will I be an angry bird, again?”🤦🏼‍♀

But did I change? No. Have I changed for the worse? No!

We are told that every food we eat actually becomes us but the only food which we eat that turns us into himself is our Lord. By constant reception of our Lord in the Most HOLY Eucharist of the Altar, by consuming him at the breaking of the word, I have begun to reflect who I consume.

Did my essence change? That tendency to get angry? No.

What changed? My reaction to that which would ordinarily make me angry.

Some times, I meet some people and in my mind; “this person’s head is shaking 🤦🏼‍♀, should I help reset it?”

Just then our Lord comes in all his gentility;

“Okay, this person’s head is shaking”, in my mind I am like; “Thank God we agree on something”🙏🏼 Then he goes; “How do you think this person will react?” I picture the person’s reaction and respond; “if he/she tries it!!!! I will slap the living daylight out of him or her 🤦🏼‍♀, then HE goes; “then, what next?”, I respond; “He may retaliate”, then he goes what next; I go; “then I will break his hand and ensure he never tries it with anyone again!

Then, he goes; “What next?” Let me tell you; “you will get locked up in prison, people will visit you in prison and ask why did you not just ignore? Then, your friends, family and loved ones and those of all you are a role model to, those elders who are proud of you will be downcast in shame. Later, you will be released and become an ex-convict.

Then, he got me thinking🤔

And he’s like; “do you get my point”
By, going through it with me, I make up my mind on what to do and not by Him telling me what to do.

I walk away.

I quietly walk away because even though I did not bargain for all that, scenarios such as has just been described, situations that people did not bargain for have earned some time in jail and some others life imprisonment.

The Lord! He reasons with us, He will reason with you.

The beautiful thing about our God is; He is the same with us in everything but sin, he is immortal and because of his immortality, he cannot die, just as he cannot sin. Before you come with me that; Jesus died. Jesus is one Person with two natures; the Human and the Divine.

Jesus as Man and Jesus as God. Jesus as man was fully man through and through except in sin. Why? We got our sinful nature by being born by our Parents who have inherited the sin of Adam and Eve but Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit through a Virgin, so, He is free from sin.

If you still have a doubt about this, go read Jesus’ encounter with John the Baptist when he went for Baptism. It is clearly written that; Jesus had no need for the ‘Baptism of repentance’ with which John the Baptist baptized the people because he was free from sin through and through.

So, as I was saying; “Our Lord never took away our will”, such that he can only instruct us, but still leaves to us, the decision to make. So, you can decide to be an Olosho, an armed robber, a gigolo, an Adulterer, Whatever it is you like! You can decide to be a Virgin, a gentle person, one who brings others to God! Anything you like and that makes you happy!😁
But he stays there at the door knocking, should you open, you will meet him waiting eagerly, waiting to show you just how beautiful a life with him is 😁

Now, let me tell you about the beautiful part of my relationship with Jesus:

  1. I am fearless. A preacher once said; there are 365 or 366 places in the Bible; where the word; “do not be afraid” is used. 😋 one dose per day, wa wa alright 🤦🏼‍♀ I Can walk at any time of the night, speak with anyone I want to, bare my mind to anyone without fear or fervour because I know the power of the One walking with me.
  2. I have this overwhelming level of Godfidence 😁 Going far away from being confident, it’s a confidence borne from the fact that I have a God, going beyond having a God, this God is actually within me, before me and ahead of me! So, things must work out according to his pleasing will for me even when they do not seem right by Human standards.
  1. I approach people with Love! I have the attitude that; once you meet me, you are going to find ‘your essence‘ in me, you are going to find a certain purposefulness and you will not only want to be with me but you will want to be good to me. I mean I have made trips to foreign lands and being stranded and the Lord has come through, through a stranger just for me and ensured I am safe.
  2. When I am prompted to give, I give with the knowledge that he actually owns everything I make a claim on and has only made me a custodian. That person crying to him for something, is it not from one of his account managers here on earth he will supply it? That’s me! I give with the attitude that I have an inexhaustible well of wealth which is Jesus himself.
  3. I am hopeful. Hopeful that because “Gbogbo eyan lo ti mo mi mo” everyone already knows we are in a relationship 😉, I am a symbol of his unfailing love and my life is only a testament of his Goodness, Mercy and Love.
  1. I am very free! 😁 I do not sulk up on or listen to people opinion because I know Who I am, because he has told me who I am, do you get?
  2. I am able to walk away from people, things and situations who are not a portion of his manifestation for me.

There are so many other things to share, but I will stop at 7.

Many people will teach you Jesus from the Bible, teach you Jesus from what their Pastors have said😊 These are good, please listen to them.
But, I will teach you Jesus from my own life, I will show you just how much fun you can have while professing Jesus. You see my pictures and posts, right? Do I look or sound boring to you? 🤣 Do I look bored? 🤣🤦🏼‍♀ Does it look like I am lacking or missing something? 😃 Afraid of something?

I am sure you get my point..

I am sure you get my point, just like you know your mum, your dad, your boo (even though these relationships are fickle), in same way, I know this Jesus.

If you are living in Jesus like you are living in bondage, you have not met him o. If you are still going to Church to look for him, you are wasting your time o. Jesus is in you, he is just waiting for you to actually notice he is there.

How many times should you pray?
You see some days I may be so busy, I will not as much as upload a period (.) on my blog, on some days I give you a full lecture 🤣, did my blog shift? did it stop existing just because I did not acknowledge it? did it become Alex’s blog? No! My blog remains mine through and through.

So, is our Lord! Agnes Aina has not taken up your space with Jesus 🤣 There is enough of Jesus to go round. I remember when at the feeding of the 5000, Jesus fed to capacity and had some left over from a little quantity, he fed so many! It’s a prefiguration of who and what he wants to be with and to us. Jesus is inestimable and has no end.

What’s the point? Your place and space with Jesus is there and it will never become someone else’s over your inability or unwillingness to communicate with him. The day you say, you are ready, work (sorry, Love) begins!

Now, I know Jesus, if someone else comes here to tell you about this same Jesus, it’s another story, because Jesus ‘customizes’ himself for each of us! The Jesus with The Monk at the Abbey is the same Jesus with Agnes Aina who has to attend to so many customers everyday but is it what the Monk at the Abbey hears that Aina at Wehla M Stores will hear? 🤔

Jesus is going to to walk with you, if there is something you will let go, It is you who will let it go not Jesus saying; “drop it and let’s go” except you are called to Ministry. Friendship with Jesus is very beautiful and I think it’s something we all should experience.

The heaven you are praying and hoping to enter is already here amongst us in the person of our Lord😊😁

This reminds me of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. Anytime you are confused or maybe you think all I have said is ambiguous, please read this account; John 4:4-42.

Many things happened here;

First; it was a Man talking to a woman😳

Second; a Jew talking to a Samaritan

Third; a religious leader talking to a woman who has not just been with 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 husbands but 5! 😁👏🏽 and was living with the 6th who wasn’t even her husband. My Muslim friends will say; “Subhanallah“!😱 I can imagine what society will call this kind of woman; “a depraved woman”!

What was more? Fourth; Jesus, God himself was asking her for something!🤨

Fifth; upon seeing that there was a flicker of hope, a tinge of faith; 25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

He immediately showed himself to her without much ado! This is who Jesus is, he will not place on you all those restrictions life places on you, he will not label you, if he knows you are weak already, he will not take long in revealing himself to you, he will not place on you a burden that is difficult for you to bear.

Even when things do not go well, he will be right there with you.

Here is what happened next;

28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.
She left her water jar! That priced possession. They came out of the town on her behest🤨🤣
Imagine; the woman with 5 ex-husbands became an Evangelist who called people to meet with Jesus 🤔

Notice something; they yielded because she told them; “Come and meet he who has told me everything I have ever done“🤔

When standing before Jesus, you see yourself as you would in a Mirror! The one who was previously labelled became the Evangelist that would lead the Samaritans to God.

What happened next?

40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers.
42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

Now, I think of it; I am sure there were religious women there, I am sure there were religious leaders there, but it had to be this one woman! Because that’s just who Jesus is! He wants to befriend you and just as you are.

No Bible, no words can teach you about our Lord like the Lord himself, but you have to begin from somewhere, okay?

Finally to those who pray to God as to a deity😁👈🏻 He is a deity, yeah, a supreme deity but the moment you know the one you are shouting and praying to and Fasting to is right inside of you, I think it will put things in perspective 😁👌🏻

To those who go to worship and do all the religious things just because ‘Hell is real’, are you sure you haven’t even begun to feel what the pain of this Hell is from here?
You got to take some chilling pills 😊, begin from being introspective, take a very good look at yourself and you will see even you are a Work-in-Progress.

May our Lord continue to manifest to us what peace and joy awaits everyone of us who desire him (secretly initially 😋🤣) and later unabatedly. 🤦🏼‍♀ May the joy of knowing him inspire us to good works and actions through which St. James tells us we express our faith and at the end of our lives here on earth, may we come to gaze on the beauty of He whom we have received, together with the Saints now and forever. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace. Amen.🙏🏼
